This Tuesday is another opportunity for volunteers to beat back buffelgrass on the monument working with the BLM and Arizona Native Plant Society.  John Scheuring will lead as many volunteers that are available to work the large buffelgrass patches in the vicinity of Ragged Top and Wolcott. John is getting out as many times as he can while the buffelgrass is spray-able. The project for this day is either spraying at Wolcott Peak or the base of Ragged Top. Backpack sprayers are used. Hikes from the parking area to the spraying site are relatively short, ~1/2 to the work site from the parking area.

Volunteers must wear long pants, a long sleeved shirt and sturdy boots. It’s best to carry water in two bottles in a fanny pack. John will provide an orientation, snacks, and wash up materials afterwards. Volunteers will experience awesome scenery during the event!

Send an email to [email protected] if you are interested in joining the group or contact John Scheuring at [email protected].  Meet John 8am at the Marana Airport.
