Friends of Ironwood Forest Respond to Potential Threats Against the Monument
On April 28, 2025, Friends of Ironwood Forest, in collaboration with Archaeology Southwest and the Coalition for Sonoran Desert Protection, issued a press release addressing alarming news reports that the Trump administration is preparing to reduce the size of several national monuments, including Ironwood Forest National Monument.
Although no official action has yet been taken, we believe it is critical to act swiftly. Together with our partners, Friends of Ironwood Forest is working to proactively raise public awareness and send a clear message to decision-makers: Ironwood Forest National Monument is an irreplaceable ecological and cultural treasure, vital to the health of the Sonoran Desert and deeply valued by the community.
We are committed to ensuring that Ironwood Forest remains protected for future generations.
